*one shot dead during rescue

After about a week in captivity, three of the kidnapped farm hands by gunmen at the Oyo State Farm settlement in Iseyin on Friday, have regained freedom.
New Nigerian learnt that the kidnapped farmhands were set free by their abductors after their families allegedly paid N10 million ransom to the gunmen
Sources said one on the four farmhands kidnapped at the farm settlement on Sunday was shot dead during exchange of gunshots between the kidnappers and the security men trailing them in the bush.
Our correspondent gathered that
the N10 million ransom was allegedly released to the kidnappers at their hideout through their approved network.
Sources at the farm settlement hinted that the released farm hands were sighted at the farm settlement after their release before they were later taken to the police station.
Speaking on the release of the kidnapped farm hands, Chairman of the Farm Settlement, Mr Rasheed Adepoju said farm settlement community people were relieved that the kidnapped farmhands were back home alive despite the death of one of them.
”While we mourn the death of one of the victims that met his untimely death from the hands of the abductors”, he said.
Mr Adepoju added, ” we want to thank God that the rest are back home and are going to be with their families . We shall talk more about this as time goes, this is too shocking,” .
