*Says Senate fear God, conclude screening devoid of regional, religious sentiment

The frontline youth forum in Northern Nigeria, Arewa Youth Forum has alleged that those against the progress of the North are those behind the scene, working against the successful ministerial screening of immediate past Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai.
Arewa Youth Forum expressed this in a statement signed by its President, Ahmed Mohammed Zagi, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday August 10, 2023.
“We are aware of sinister moves of some individuals who do not want the progress of the North, hence working from the background to frustrate Malam Nasir el-Rufai from becoming a minister under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the group said.
According to the statement, the group wondered why a bright mind like el-Rufai could not scale through the screening, whereas those nominated after him have been cleared and their names submitted to the Presidency.
They tasked the Senate to have the fear of God and conclude the screening devoid of regional or religious sentiment.
Arewa Youth Forum also appealed to President Tinubu to call those that may be behind the ministerial hurdle to order.
“This is because el-Rufai is one of Nigeria’s best brains that can help in contributing positively to the growth of the country, especially in these trying times when the country is seeking answers to several issues plaguing it.
” Hence, we task all those delaying his clearance for a well deserved ministerial position to without waste of further time, do the needful so that Nigeria can get the best of his knowledge.
“el-Rufai is a critical thinker and problem solver. We have seen him do it in Kaduna within the past eight years and at the national level in the past,” the group submitted.
