Team Kaduna’s 235-man Contingent Departs For NYG Friday – Commissioner

A 235-man contingent of Team Kaduna will be departing for the 2021 National Youth Games (NYG) billed for Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on Friday.

The Commissioner of Sports Development, Kaduna State, Professor Kabiru Mato disclosed this in an interaction with sports writers at his office on Thursday October 7, 2021.

“In total, Kaduna participating in all events, at the 2021 NYG with a total of 235 contingent comprising of athletes and officials,” he said.

According to him, Kaduna qualified to represent the North West in eight of the 12 team events.

“Kaduna will also be participating in all individual events at the NYG,” he assured.

Professor Mato said that they will not just be participating, but participating to win.

“We have discovered lots of talents in various areas, we hope Ilorin will provide them opportunity to excel,” he said.

On their overall preparations, Professor Mato said that they are good to go.

“We are good to go, we are very ready. The governor has approved our participation and logistics are being processed,” he added.
