Coalition of Nigeria Youth Associations (CONYA) has condemned in totality the false publication by Sahara Reporters on attack on Secretary General to the Government of Federation (SGF) Boss Mustafa’s home town in Adamawa State.
A statement signed by the National Coordinator, Comrade Nuhu Sani Lere described the report by Sahara Reporters as fake and blackmail that the government needs to address.
He described the fabricated online news by Sahara Reporters as an attempt to blackmail the Secretary of the Government of the Federation Boss Mustafa and the Federal Government on the area of security.
Comrade Nuhu Lere said it’s unfortunate that one of the strongest online media like Sahara Reporters would use false information to mislead the public.
He also advised media organizations particularly online to always verify their report before going to public.
They called on the security agencies to bring them to book and debunk the fake news within 24 hours and apologize to SGF as well as the people of such areas and the security agencies or they will take legal actions against the organization that is expected to be saddled with responsibility of promoting good governance in Nigeria and the diaspora.
