Following the inaugural meeting of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria National Electoral Committee (SWANECO) on December 17, 2022 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the timetable for election into the National Executive Committee (NEC) of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has been made public.
After exhaustive deliberation by the 5-member SWANECO presided over by the Chairman, Mr. Sunny Ogele it was proposed that the election holds in February, 2023.
Furthermore, Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers State has been slated as the tentative venue for the election subject to approval and ratification by the outgoing NEC.

SWAN ELECTIONS 2022/2023 TIME TABLE.
Wed. Dec.28, 2022 to Fri. Jan 26, 2023 :
Sale/Return of Nomination Forms.
Tues.Jan.30, 2023 to Mon.Feb.13, 2023 :
Screening of Candidates/Publication of Results.
Tues. Feb 14,2023 to Thurs. Feb 16, 2023 :
Claims/Objections/Appeal.
Fri. Feb 17, 2023 :
(i) Publication of Final Results.
(ii) Manifesto Presentation.
Sat. Feb 18, 2023 :
Election/Swearing In
