Soludo Releases 80-man Transition Committee List, Utomi, Etiaba, Nwankpo Included

Governor-elect, Prof Charles Soludo’s media convener, Hon Pauly Emenike on Thursday explained  that Soludo chose Mrs Oby Ezekwesili as the chairman of his governorship transition committee because of her bravery and integrity.
He said that Ezekwesili’s bravery and ability to call a spade a spade will help her put to rest any issue that may arise from the outgoing government and the incoming government.
The former lawmaker at the Anambra House of Assembly said “Oby Ezekwesili is somebody that every body knows is very hard working, even if she associates with any political party, she still remains non partisan in character.”

“I think her appointment or the choice of her is a very wonderful one. She is someone who is knowledgeable about issues of government and governance in Nigeria. She knows how to go about the job, and she is someone that will call a spade a spade. She is brave, so I think her appointment is very good. 

“Even though we are transiting from one government to another and even though it id from sane political party, if there are issues that need to be ironed out and in ironing out those issues, she and her committee.

“If they find out what will help Anambra move forward, I believe she has this courage to put it on the table and have it ironef out, without minding if anyone would be offendef or not.”

Joining Ezekwesili on the Transition Committee are 80 other notable Anambra indigenes and non indigenes.

The list released by Soludo’s media aide, Joe Anatume includes Prof. Benedict Okey Oramah, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor, Prof. Pat Utomi, Prof. Chidi OdinkaluMr. Steve Nworga,Chief Osita ChidokaHon (Dr) Ben Nwankwo, Hon Charles Odedo, Barr Tony Ifeanya, Mr. Ferdinand Agu and  Prof. Osita Ogbu.

Others are, Chief Chikwe Udensi, Dr. Greg Ibe, Dr. Alex Otti, Mr. Coleman Uba, Chief Collins Chikeluba, Engr (Sir) Chris Okoye, Prof. (Mrs) Uche Amazigo, Barrister Pat. Ikwueto (SAN), Dr. Olisa Agbakoba (SAN),  Barrister Echezona Etiaba (SAN), Prof. Offornze Amucheazi (SAN) and  Engr. Emeka Ezeh.

The list also includes Chief Leon C. Mezue, Hon Chike Anyaonu, Hon Evarist Uba, Dr. P.C.J Adibe, Chief Akachukwu Nwankpo, Dr. Mefor Law, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu and  Dr Godwin Owoh, among others.

While former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili will head the committee, Prof Benedith Oramah, Prof Pat Utomi and Mr Osita Chidika will play roles in the transition of government.
The press release by Anatune, with the full names of members partly read, “This is to announce the constitution of a Transition Committee which will liaise with a team set up by the government of Anambra State to ensure a seamless transition from the Governor Willie Obiano’s administration to a Chukwuma Charles Soludo-led administration as from 17th March, 2022.

“The full Terms of Reference for the Committee as well as its mode of operation will be communicated during the inauguration/first plenary sessions scheduled for 19- 22nd January, 2022 at the Golden Tulip (Agulu Lake) Hotel, Anambra State.
“Members are expected to arrive on Wednesday, 19th while the inauguration and first plenary sessions start on the 20th. Departure is on the 23rd. The Secretariat will take care of the logistics (transport and accommodation), etc.”
