Ebonyi State Police Command on Friday July 7, 2023, arrested fifteen suspects alleged to have been involved in enforcing sit-at-home order that has lasted for one week in Ebonyi State.
The police security operatives also recovered various weapons, charms, including a live eagle, army camouflage, two vehicle plate numbers, and other incriminating items in their disposal.
According to the police, among the arrested suspects were, Okwudili Otozi, and Nnenna Ali, a nursing mother.
The Police stated that the duo are the herbalists of the alleged criminal gang who prepare charms for them before embarking on operation.
While parading the suspects at the Command’s headquarters in Abakaliki, just hours before bowing out of service, the Commissioner of Police, CP. Faleye Olaleye, said the arrested persons were responsible for the attacks, sporadic shootings witnessed in different parts of the State last Tuesday, as well as the recent attack on a Police team in the state.
The 15 suspects are currently in police custody waiting for arraignment in court.
