The executive arm of the government has been charged to set up a military base in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State and to intensify the bombardment of areas held by bandits in the state as well.
This call was made by Senator Muhammad Bima Enagi who is currently representing the state at the 9th Assembly.
The Senator  said that it became very necessary to make the call, following the persistent  onslaught by bandits in Shiroro.
The law maker said, “Last week, the bandits raided a community in Shiroro, killimg 15 persons and kidnapping several women.
“This situation influenced my brother, Senator Sani Musa to table a motion before the Senate that the Federal Government should as a matter of urgency, set up military base and to intensify aerial bombardment of bandits in Shiroro.
“Despite all the approval given to the requests by the  military high command by the National Assembly  to enable it  purchase arms and  ammunition so that the military could effectively combat the bandits, the situation seems to be getting worse
He also called on National Emergency Agency (NEMA) officials to come to the assistance of those that have displaced by the conflict.
