With the old Naira notes now in circulation across Kano State where the residents are now accepting N500, N1,000 notes as legal tender, while banks and POS operators are dispensing both the new and old notes at different centres, business activities have picked up.
Our correspondent who monitored how the business activities were ongoing in Kano City and environs, reports that residents are acceptinv both the old and new notes, which is boosting wconomic business activities and easing cash scarcity.
At Sabon Gari Market, Kantin Kwari, Singer and Dawanau International Food Market traders were seen accepting old Naira notes, while filling stations and supermarkets accepted sane, as well as transfers in exchange for goods.
Furthermore, our correspondent visited some rural markets where there was full acceptance of old Naira notes, where it was gathered that there was brisk sales of commodities like food items, livestock and other household materials.
Speaking to New Nigerian, a renowned food vendor at Badume Market, Hajiya Talatu Musa said that the recirculation of old Naira notes as legal tender has restored commercial activities in every sector.
