Motorists plying Kano-Katsina road have cried out for help from the relevant authorities as big bumps creating heavy gridlock at Tudun Wulli Village in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State.
Most of the vehicle owners that had chats with our correspondent disclosed that the bumps are very big and closely erected by the residents, without consulting professional bodies for mounting better and simple bumps.
Malam Adamu Musa, a commercial bus driver whose vehicle broke down while crossing one of the bumps, stressed that, “these bumps are so big and I am certain that most of the people passing through this village would damage their vehicles especially cars, and I think those who mounted the bumps did not consult professionals in the transport sector”.
During an interactive session with some of the residents, a trader who had a store close to the road, told New Nigerian that they advised those who mounted the bumps to follow due process but they neglected their plea and many vehicles especially cars have broken down as a result crossing the big bumps.
Vehicle owners said that if urgent measures are not taken, many vehicles would break down because the bumps are very big and not easy to cross, while Zebra crossing may be the best solution in controlling the traffic at the village.
