The National President Science Teachers Association (STAN), Comrade Ezekiel David has said that science education plays a critical role in national development and called for the motivation of teachers to perform better.
He made this statement during his visit to the Kaduna State Commissioner of Education in his office.
Comrade Ezekiel pleaded with the Kaduna State Government to prepare a special package for Science Teachers Association in the state, particularly on salary and allowances.
He called for a strong collaboration between the government and the STAN Kaduna State branch to organize workshops for both primary and secondary school teachers.
The president told the commissioner that they have the capacity to deliver as they are professionals and at affordable rate better than the consultants.
Speaking on the achievement of STAN Kaduna State branch, he said a lot has been done in moulding students who represent the state at national quiz competitions and project exhibition with a very good outcome.
“Some of our members participated in the online outside broadcast teaching organized by the state government during the COVID 19 Lockdown”.
As the first Kaduna State indigene to be elected President of STAN, Comrade Ezekiel David solicited support from the state government whenever the need arises.
The national president expressed appreciation to the Kaduna State Government for considering Science Teachers more important and the assistance given to the state branch which enabled them attended the 2021 Virtual Annual Conference.
