Usman Ibrahim popularly known as Sardaunan Badarawa has emerged winner of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) re-run primary held on Monday November 7, 2023.
Sardaunan Badarawa got 210 out of 221 votes cast, beating his closest rival, Lawal Adamu known as Mr. LA who garnered five votes of the 223 delegates accredited from seven local government areas that make up Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone.
The local govt areas are, Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Igabi, Giwa, Birnin-Gwari, Kajuru and Chikun.
While announcing the results, Chairman of the rerun primary election, Istifanus Caleb said that Sardaunan Badarawa scored the highest number of votes cast, declaring him winner and candidate of PDP for 2023 Kaduna Central Senatorial Election.
He said that out of 223 accredited delegates expected to vote in the exercise, 221 cast their votes, declaring four invalid.
Caleb added that Mr. LA and Prof. Usman Mohammed came second and third with five and two votes respectively.
He adjudged the election as transparent , peaceful and credible, adding that all delegates who participated in the election voted aspirants of their choices without duress nor compulsion.
