Sani-Bello inaugurates 6 Projects, Inspects 8.7km Dual Carriage Bypass In Kontagora

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has inaugurated six projects in Kontagora Local Government Area of the state.

The projects commissioned are School of Nursing and Midwifery, remodeled and expanded General Hospital, five number 1.4km Jikan Shehu Internal Access road, 5km Maigari Gwadebe GRA road a component of 11km Kontagora-Tegina approach road, Col. Sani Bello Housing Estate and Rice Mill Processor, all in Kontagora. 

Speaking on the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello explained that it is expedient to establish the school to produce qualified health personnel that would fill the gap of manpower in the health sector.

The governor commended the management of the school for their hard work as they have started graduating students and promised to inform the next administration of their challenges, as presented for positive response. 

He said as a Senator-elect of Niger North, he will support the institution in everyway possible. 

At the General Hospital Kontagora which was established about 79 years ago, the governor disclosed that as his place of his birth, it has suffered neglect for decades due to the growing population of the town and needed to be upgraded to meet the growing demand in healthcare service.

He explained that the former 250-bed space capacity hospital which has now been remodeled, expanded and equipped to 500-bed space capacity will serve the people of Kontagora and neighbouring states of Zamfara and Kebbi.

On the road  projects, the governor said they were reconstructed to provide easy movement for the people as well add value to their properties. 

At the Col. Sani Bello Housing Estate, Governor Sani Bello explained that the project  suffered several years of set backs haven been initiated about 12 years ago. 

He however, expressed delight that it has been completed and would benefit the people.

Governor Sani Bello also inspected the 8.7km dual carriageway bye pass road conceived 40years ago which successive governments could not embark on but his administration decided to.

Compensation was paid and a sustainability framework that will ensure its completion has been signed.
