The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army, Major General A.E. Abubakar has reiterated that the army will continue to partner with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC),  towards ensuring maximum safety on highways.

The GOC/Commander noted that key to ensuring and achieving the safety of motorists and road users, is  education, training and constant awareness of road users.

He further stressed the need for strong synergy between the military and paramilitary agencies.

Major General A.E. Abubakar further revealed that, some road accidents are caused by drug abuse, which calls for the role of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

He said that the task of all agencies would be made easier by cooperation, noting that the command’s philosophy of the leadership of the Nigerian Military is hinged on collaboration and synergy for improved performance to enhance national security.

Earlier in his remarks, the Zonal Commanding Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Clement Oladele,  commended the timely intervention of the GOC/Commander Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) to security breach in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

He affirmed the commitment of his leadership towards strengthening the already existing relationship between the FRSC and the military in the state.

The Zonal Commanding Officer further revealed his plans towards ensuring  all vehicles have identity plate numbers.

This he said, will make it easier for security agencies to track criminals on the highways.

The visit ended with the signing of the visitors book and group photograph.
