Rigachikun Residents Welcome Uba Sani To Groundbreaking Ceremony Of AGILE Project

The residents of Rigachikun at the weekend, embraced the leadership style of Governor Uba Sani towards  fulfilling some his campaign promises. They came out in large numbers  to celebrate the Governor of Kaduna State at the groundbreaking of a construction project in their  locality.

Governor Uba Sani alongside his Deputy,  Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe and government officials were at Rigachikun for the groundbreaking of a project in GSS, Nasarawan Rigachikun (AGILE) to mark 100 days of the governor   office.

The governor who spoke on his agenda, said, “one of the most important pillars out of the seven-point agenda is to ensure that we expand and bring development to rural areas within Kaduna State.

“The foundation  laying  ceremony groundbreaking is a  construction of  secondary school in Rigachikum Igabi Local Government Area to ensure every child goes to school,” he said.

Governor Sani who performed the groundbreaking  of  the construction of 62 junior and senior secondary schools, said it is the commencement of schools projects across the state.

He said, “the essence of this project is to ensure that everybody in Kaduna State is giving the opportunity to access education.”

Sani pointed out that Nigeria has the highest number of out of school children in the  world, presently about 14 million.

According to him, Kaduna State has about 500 thousand out of school,  however, there are other states that have more than the state.

Sani said that Kaduna State is very proactive,  “that is why I  have reached out to all the rural local government areas to ensure that this project is done in our rural local government area so that we can give our children the opportunity to go to school.”

Governor Sani said that primary and secondary school education is free, but beyond that, they believe they must take  schools closer to their homes so that the children and their parents  would be encouraged.

He  said that he would make sure he gives them all necessary support.

“I  would  make sure that I  equip the schools when completed, so that our children will have quality education.

“The project in GSS, Nasarawan Rigachikun (AGILE)  is one, out of 62 by the grace of God, we will begin the constructions in the next one week.

 “The infrastructure renewal programme for the schools, classrooms, laboratories, administrative blocks, multi-purpose halls, and toilets would be constructed,” he said.

He assured of  monitoring of the construction of the schools and ensure that quality jobs are delivered.

Meanwhile, Governor Uba Sani official proceeded to flagging-off ceremony for the construction of Rigachikun – Tami – Birnin Yero rural road (25km) in Igabi LGA of Kaduna State.

Speaking also in an interview, Governor Uba said, “by extension, I will ensure that we build hospitals and revitalise the economy of people within the rural areas.

“Consequently, the state would assist the farmers when completed to facilitate movement to be able to transport their product to the city which is key, hence farming is very important in the rural areas.”

Uba Sani said the road when completed, would facilitate movement of agricultural products from rural communities to urban areas.

He added that the construction of the 25 kilometer road from Rigachikun will lead to a village called Tami and then  to Sabon Gari Local Government Area.

He further explained that, it is one of the major roads in Igabi Local Government Area. 

“I have no doubt on my mind, it will enhance security in the area because when you bring development, you are also by extension, solving the problem of insecurity.

“That is why the state identified this important road. I  identified 32 other roads across the state, by the grace of God in the next few days, we will embark on the groundbreaking for the construction of 31 other roads within rural communities of all the local government areas, that is our intention, I believe we have to stop the problem we are facing.”

The Governor assured that those local government areas who are in the rural areas will  be provided with basic amenities.

Also, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba San, commissioned the newly constructed/renovated hostels and classrooms at GGSS Kawo, Kaduna.  

The commissioning was part of the activities to mark 100 days of Senator Uba Sani as the Governor of Kaduna State.
