In an effort to restore the past glory of Katsina State, the State Government has organized a 5-day retreat for government functionaries from the state in Kaduna to orientate them on governance.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Governor Aminu Bello Masari said one of the major policy thrusts of his administration is training and manpower developments; and urged participants to be focused on the goals and objectives set for them, get acquainted with the developmental programmes and scrupulously abide by the budgetary provisions.

He stated that after he took over the mantle of leadership in the state, the implementation of the restoration agenda commenced.
Governor Bello Masari further stated that from the inception of his administration in May, 2015, civil servants were sponsored for various in-service training, seminars and workshops both locally and international; and called on them to reciprocate government’s efforts by being loyal and dedicated through commitment to the ideals, vision and mission of the administration.
“This training is intended to develop strategies to be adopted for the formulation of appropriate policies in line with the Restoration Agenda of the present administration in an effort to restore the past glory of Katsina state.
“Critical to this effort is a clear understanding of the 5-year Development Plan which is the torch-lamp to show the road in our march to restoration.
“It is also designed to educate the top policy makers of Katsina state on the concept, objectives, implication, constitution, direction and advantages of the Restoration Agenda in the process of rapid development of the state in all fields of human endeavour.

“Given the solid backing this administration is giving to the Civil Service, we in turn expect our colleagues in the Civil Service to reciprocate by being loyal and dedicated and by committing themselves to the ideals, vision and mission of the administration,” Masari said.
