Unsteady Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) serving in Lagos State Command may soon be in trouble as the  Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi has charged community leaders to report their conduct to him for disciplinary action.

Alabi made the charge during a  meeting with chairmen of Community Development Committees, officials of the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs and the Lagos State Community Development Advisory Council at the weekend.

At the meeting which was initiated in line with the Community Policing policy of getting feedbacks from communities as regards their peculiar challenges, Alabi urged the chairmen to always furnish the Police with prompt information that would assist in combating crimes within their various communities.

He equally urged the Chairmen to have a robust relationship with their respective Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and immediately report any DPO found faltering at his duties.

The police public relations officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin in a release, stated that the meeting afforded the communities the opportunity to rub minds with the number one  police officer in Lagos State and give valuable suggestions and recommendations towards improving security in Lagos State.

The meeting which was held at the Police Officers’ Mess, Ikeja also had in attendance the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Affairs, Hon. Wale Babatunde Jimoh.
