Prof Gwarzo Mourns Sheikh Yusuf Ali, Condoles  Family,   Kano Govt

The President MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has extended condolences to the family and people of Gaya Emirate over the death of renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Yusuf Ali.

Sheik Yusuf Ali died on Sunday night at the age of 73, following a protracted illness. 

The condolence message was contained in a statement personally signed by Prof. Gwarzo and issued to newsmen in Kano on Monday. 

He also expressed his deepest and heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Kano State as well as the Muslim Ummah over the passing away of the great Islamic Scholar. 

Prof. Gwarzo described the demise of the  former Upper Sharia Court judge and director of the Upper Sharia Court as a great loss not only to his immediate family, but to the entire Muslim Ummah in the country. 

He noted that Sheik Yusuf Ali will continue to be remembered for his immense contribution to the propagation of Islam through his preachings. 

“So, on behalf of myself and Maryam Abacha American University (MAAUN), I wish to extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the people of Gaya Emirate and Kano State Government on the passing on of the great Islamic scholar. 

While praying to Almighty Allah to forgive and grant the deceased the highest level of Jannah, Prof. Gwarzo prayed to Allah to give the entire family the fortitude to bear the huge loss. 

The deceased, who left behind three wives and 38 children, was buried in Kano after his funeral (Jana’iza) at his residence of Tudun Maliki quarters on Monday. 

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace, ameen.
