Poly Ibadan Research Team Wins Two Of Three TETfund Creative Writing, Research Programme

The Polytechnic Ibadan (TPI) five-man team have won two out of the three research event involving  four other Institutions took part.

At a research for impact Creative Writing Award organized by the Tertiary Education Trust fund(TETfund) in Abuja, the Polytechnic Ibadan team carted away two out of the three awards at the research programme.

The five-man team of The Polytechnic,Ibadan comprising mainly of lecturers drawn from different departments came top in the research event having other 

Institutions such as University of Abuja, University of Delta, Agbor (Delta State),Federal University Owerri and Federal Polytechnic, Kaura-Namoda. 

Presenting the awards, to the Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan(TPI), Prof. Kazeem Adekunle Adebiyi, Rector,  leader of the team and  Head of the newly established department of Tourism and Hospitality,  Dr Kola Lawal said the research programme lasted for two weeks in Abuja.

He stressed that the essence of the initiative research work is to turn research activities in various Institutions in the country into commercial use.

Emphasizing that various issues confronting the nation were discussed but everything was scaled down by the participants into just one issue which is insecurity, Dr Lawal said the TPI team presented a prototype research work on travel guide which when fully developed has the potential of proffering solution to security problems in the country 

According to him,  the team came up with how to secure patency for research works in the various tertiary Institutions in the country basically for Commercial purposes and that each of the teams that took part in the programme was mandated to form innovative team in their various Institutions making use of their students and Staff.

 Rector of the Polytechnic  Ibadan Prof. Kazeem Adekunle Adebiyi while responding commended The TPI team for the laurel brought to the Institution assuring the team that innovative and creative unit will  be established in the Office of the Rector to promote and encourage creativity and innovation in the Institution.
