Katsina State Police Command has neutralized a suspected notorious terrorist – bandit and recovered sixty suspected rustled sheep and one AK 47 rifle with one hundred and ten rounds of 7.62 MM live ammunition.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, Assistant Superinte.ndent of Police (ASP), Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu said
on August 15, 2023, at about 0009 hours the command received a distress call that bandits in their numbers, armed with dangerous weapons such as AK 47 rifles and shooting sporadically, invaded Korogo village via Daddara, Jibia
local government area and rustled sixty sheep.
ASP Sadiq Aliyu explained that, upon receipt of the report, unhesitatingly, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Jibia mobilized a team of Police operatives to the scene and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel, as a result of which they were forced to abandon their heinous mission and scamper into the nearby bush.
ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu said while combing the scene, the body of one neutralized suspected bandit, sixty rustled sheep, as well as one AK 47 rifle with one hundred and ten (110) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, were recovered. pointing out that, “the investigation is ongoing.”
