Police Arrests Six Suspected Murderers, Internet Fraudster In Akwa Ibom

Police Command in Akwa Ibom State has said that it has arrested six suspects over their alleged involvement in the murder of two persons, one Patience Ating Ubokulo ‘female’ and Barr. Sunday Akpan ‘male’ in the state.
Parading some of the suspects before newsmen at the Police Headquarters, Ikot Akpanabia in Uyo on Tuesday, the Command through its Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Odiko MacDon said the suspects committed the offence on November 21 and December 4, last year respectively.
Patience Ating Ubokulo, according to SP MacDon was killed at Oron local government area after she was invited out for a sit-out by one of assailants, who alongside his accomplices butchered her body into parts, put in bag and left by roadside next day.
While Barr. Sunday Akpan who until his death, was the Legal Adviser to the factional Village Head of Nung Ukana Ikot Efere in Ibesikpo Asutan local government area was killed on the Village.
Explaining further on the two incidents, PPRO said, “….on 25/11/2021 at about 8:00am, Operatives of Oron Division arrested one Ruth Edet Ebah ‘f’, Favour Peter Edward ‘f’, Peter Edward ‘m’, Ating Ubokulo ‘m’ and Asuqwo Edet Okwong ‘m’ in connection with the murder of one Patience Ating Ubokulo ‘f’ of Oron L.G.A. 
“Investigation revealed that the deceased left home on 21/11/21at about 7:30pm in company of Favour Peter Edward and Peter Edward ‘m’ on the invitation of one Victor other names unknown of Menita Hotel, Oron where  they sat and drank. After drinking, one of the suspects, Peter Edward ‘m’ took the deceased out from the drinking bar but did not return home with her. After few days, body parts of the deceased were found in a bag by passersby. 
“Similarly, on 4/12/2021 at about 10:40am, following a tip-off, Detectives of Ibesikpo Asutan Division arrested one Emmanuel Enobong a.k.a “Eno” ‘m’. The suspect was fingered in the murder of one Barr. Sunday Akpan ‘m’, who prior to his death was the Legal Adviser to Eteidung Chief Moses Eyo Etim ‘m’, the factional  Village Head of Nung Ukana Ikot Efere, Ibesikpo Asutan L.G.A.” MacDon stated.
On one Imaobong Kelvin Akpan ‘m’ of No. 47 Akpasak Estate, Off Oron Road, Uyo, the Police  Spokesman said that he was arrested following a petition to Command, alleging the suspect of criminal activities using internet and defrauding unsuspecting members of the public including having sex with some of them false-fully.
Imaobong was said to have been impersonating as being Personal Assistant to the State’s Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources, Pastor Umo Eno through a fraudulent facebook account with username “Umo Eno” and further used the Commissioner’s photograph as profile picture.
“The suspect who is a notorious fraudster and sex maniac confessed to have fraudulently created the facebook account. He uses the said account to lure innocent and unsuspecting ladies to hotels, have carnal knowledge of them with promise to assist them secure jobs, while defrauding others of various sums of money running into millions. He succeeded in luring more than ten ladies through the fraudulent facebook account and had sexual intercourse with them at various hotels while posing as the Personal Assistant to the Hononurable Commissioner for lands.
“Exhibits recovered from the suspect include, two (2) glo, two (2) Airtel and one (1) MTN SIM cards that he uses interchangeably to contact his victims. Other exhibits include two phones and seven (7) dollars and five (5) yuan.” The PPRO stated.   
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Andrew Amiengheme has warned fraudsters, impersonators and those involve in other heinous crimes  within the State to desist forthwith or have the law to contend with as the Command would spare no resources in ensuring that the state continue to enjoy the prevailing peace.
