Police Arrests Serial Intestate Pipeline Vandal, Others In Lagos

 Police operatives in Lagos have apprehended a suspected serial interstate oil pipeline vandal, New Nigerian Newspapers has learnt.

Identified as Saheed Ramon, 46, he was said to have been arrested in Iyana- odo axis of Idimu in Alimosho Local Government Council  of the state by police detectives at about 1.34pm on 6th July 2023.

Described as an interstate criminal, the suspect according to report, usually come to the state with commit the atrocity with members of his gang and flee out of the state.

The Lagos State Police Command Spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin who made the disclosure while parading the suspect along others, said he was suspected to be involved in the pipeline vandalisation that occurred in Idimu area about a week ago.

Hundeyin, who.paraded the suspects on behalf of the Commissioner of Police Idowu Owohunwa, added that the suspect has been in the business for over 10 years and has been evading arrest.

” Just a week ago, a pipeline was broken into, the Commissioner of Police Idowu Owohunwa visited the scene and we commenced investigation into that matter and we ‘ve been able to arrest one suspect by name Saheed Ramon aged 46 years.

” Interestingly, Ramon has always been escaping arrest, he has been in the business for approximately 10 years. He comes to Lagos, do the business and run out of Lagos. But we’ve been able to catch up with him and getting close to arresting other members of the gang”, Hundeyin stated.

Commenting on the other suspects, Hundeyin disclosed that they were arrested in different parts of the state for varying degrees of crimes namely armed robbery, stealing and murder and cultism.

His words, ” On 10th July 2023 at about 1030hrs a gang of armed robbers namely Yusuf Akeem ‘m’ aged 28 and Taisiru Aminu ‘m’ aged 22 attacked and robbed a resident of Agege, Lagos State that resulted in death of the victim. 

” On 10th July 2023 at about 10.30am, a gang of armed robbers namely Yusuf Akeem ‘m’ aged 28 and Taisiru Aminu ‘m’ aged 22 attacked and robbed a resident of Agege, Lagos State that resulted in death of the victim. 

“:Diligent investigation led to their arrest. One locally made double barrel short with ten live cartridges were recovered from them.

” On 29th June 2023 at about 2.00pm, report was received about a group suspected to have stolen motorcycles. Diligent investigation led to the arrest of Adamu Hassan ‘m’ aged 25, Abacha Hassan ‘m’ aged 22 and Abdulrasheed Abubakar ‘m’ aged 25. Two unregistered motorcycles were recovered from them.

” On 7th July 2023 at about 7.42pm, Operatives of the Lagos state command based on credible intelligence arrested armed robbers namely Morufu Alabede ‘m’ aged 32, Idowu Raji ‘m’ aged 35, Ibrahim Abubakar ‘m’ aged 33 and Femi Afolabi ‘m’ aged 30 a gang specializing in removing vehicles from park. One unregistered Toyota Corolla was recovered”.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, used the medium to assure Lagosians that the command would continue to do everything operationally possible to ensure that crime and criminality is brought to the barest minimum in the State.
