Police Arraigns 7 Oodua Nation Agitators Over Invasion Of FRCN Station In Ibadan

 *Suspects remanded in Abolongo Prison custody till Sep, 13

Seven members of Oodua Nation agitators that invaded FRCN, Amuludun FM Ibadan late last month were on Monday arraigned at an Oyo State Magistrate Court, sitting in Iyanganku, Ibadan.

The seven suspects were arraigned before the Magistrate Court by the Police on four count charge of conspiracy, treason and two counts of armed robbery.

According to the Police, the arraigned Oodua Nation agitators are Noah Atoyebi, Adeleke Gbenga, Abdulganiyu Mustapha, Bashiru Kehinde, Ifagbola Elijah, Oladapo Ajani and Rasheed Jimoh 

However, Magistrate P. O. Adetuyi did not take the plea of the seven  defendants and ordered their remand at Abolongo Prison, Oyo.

Counsel to one of the defendants, Adeleke Gbenga, Barrister Abiodun Adeleke requested for medical attention for his client, while the 

Prosecutor, Inspector Folake Ewe did not object to the request.

Magistrate Adetuyi said the case file would be duplicated and sent to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution for advice and adjourned to 13th September, 2023.

It would be recalled that the suspected Oodua Nation Agitators hijacked Amuludun 99.1 FM, Radio Nigeria, Ibadan in the early hours of Sunday 28th of May this year with dangerous weapons and charms and hijacked the station as well as broadcast for almost one hour before they were overpowered and arrested by security agents.
