The Executive of Chairman Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau State, Honourable Dayyabu Yusuf Garga (Galadiman Jhar) as part of his efforts towards rescuing and coming to the aid of victims of the recent heavy down pour which led to flooding, destruction of houses, crops and property worth millions of Naira in some communities of the local government area, has donated over 100 bags of cement to the affected places.
The council chairman while presenting the items to the affected communities, expressed sadness and dismay with the high level of havoc the incident has caused in the local government area, as in recent times, a lot of activities have been happening in his domain.
He however, extended consoled the people to leave everything in the hands of Allah as he will do things at his own time.
According to him, “thesd little items will go a long way in helping the people to rebuild their houses.”
He added that government at the state levels will soon come to their aid as deliberate steps are in top gear to assist them to get back on their feet.
The chairman who said he has done it in his capacity as a son of Garga town, feels the suffering of his people are going through, hence, the action which he is optimistic will encourage and motivate them to start rebuilding life afresh, having lost a lot of things.
He advised residents of Garga to remain calm as soon, more relief will be around the corner.
Responding on their behalf, a leader and elder of the community, Elder Baba Rabilu applauded and appreciated the efforts of the chairman, whom he said, is a son of the land, and that singular act will bring succour to his people as this flood has caused untold hardship to his community.
According to him, the efforts of the council chairman is an encouragement to his people, making them feel accepted.
Elder Baba Rabilu, finally congratulated the Hon. Chairman on his one year in office as the executive chairman of Kanam LGC.
