Plateau FOMWAN Visits Christian Ophanage Home, Donates Food Items

 Orphans and other people including children who have been truamatised in the repeated sectarian crisis in Plateau State have been told to forgive thier parents whose actions have today landed them in a painful and sorrowful condition.

Plateau State Chairman of the  Federation of . Muslim Women in  Nigeria (FOMWAN) ,Hajiya Kaltume Auwalu Abubakar stated this when the organisation visited a Christian orphanage home called, Simji Girl Child Empowerment Initiative Orpharnage (SGEIO) based in Jos.

They donated foodstuff  and interacted with the orphans as part of the FOMWAN week activities.

She commended the management of the orphanage home and admonished the orphans in the house to find a place in their hearts to forgive their parents who caused the crisis that made them victims of the ethno-religious killings in the state.

According to her, “We pray that Allan will use this children to bring back the glory of Plateau State where Christian’s and Muslims alike will interact freely.

“When we came here and I saw both Muslim and Christian children my heart is full of joy because this is what we need in Plateau State today,” she said.

She told the truamatised children whom are mostly between the ages of 4 to 15, that they should never do what their parents  did,  which brought them into their present situation unknowingly.

She called on the children not to repeat the blunders and the bloodshed done by their parents, saying that, their generation should be different in a bid to restore cordial relationship between both faith. 

According to her, the visitation to the Christian orphanage home was part of the FOMWAN’s week in the state.

The chaplain of the orphanage, Mrs, Simi Simji .Goshwe commended FOMWAN in the state for the rare visit by a Muslim organisation, adding that such gesture would help in restoring permanent peace in the state between the two faith.

She charged women to work towards the needed change amongst people in the state for a better tomorrow.

The FOMWAN also visited the Sunnah Medical Hospital in Unguwan Rimi area of Jos metropololis and presented similar gifts to patients in the hospital.

The week-long activities organized by the association ended up with a symposium on security and internet cyber fraud.
