The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State is currently heading to eventual disintegration and total crisis which may mark the end of the party in the state.

Many of the party’s loyalists and supporters it was gathered,  are deeply disenchanted over the way and manner the party conducted it’s primaries where Nentanwe Yilwada was declared  winner against the wishes of majority of the aspirants with their supporters who staged a walk out at the venue of the event.

Members of the ruling APC in Plateau State are contemplating  decamping to other political parties, which may signal the end of APC in the state, considering the election at the various  17 local government areas and the state that makes People’s Democratic Party (PDP) a favourite political party in the state.

Crisis in the party started with the removal of the former chairman of the party in the state, Nde Latap Dabeng who decamped to the opposition party and contested for the governorship position.

Besides, the party supporters became aggrieved over the alleged hijacking of the party machinery where they accused  of imposition in the affairs of the party in the state.

They first accused the state’s governor, Simon Bako Lalong of imposition of candidates in the 16 out of the 17 local government areas of the state.

According to a reliable source at the Government House in Rayfield Jos, the governor  also played a crucial role in making APC lose during the bye election for Jos North Bassa Federal Constituency..

With all this political wranglings in the party,  the state publicity publicity secretary, Mr Sylvanus Normang said the  APC remains the party to beat.

He expressed optimism  that the conflict resolution mechanism of the party will resolve the issues arising from the primaries.

According to him, the disagreement that happened where some of the aspirants staged a walk out is normal in the politics, saying that the party machinery will resolve all the lingering problems ahead of the 2003 election.
