The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Niger State chapter has gone spiritual, asserting that the economic woes besetting Nigeria were enormously beyond the abilities of the present regime and therefore called for concerted and fervent prayers for God’s intervention to save Nigeria and Nigerians.
In a message to felicitate with the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of this year’s just concluded Eid-el-Kabir, the party noted that Muslims should use the occasion to intercede for quick recovery from wobbling economic situation of the country and God to grant those at the helm of affairs of the country the forthrightness in doing needful.

The statement signed by the Chairman of the party in the state, Barr. Tanko Beji, enjoined Nigerians to be prayerful without let saying the situation is really bad and require everyone to go on his/her knees for prayers and supplication.

The statement said Nigerians must now come together irrespective of all such trivialities as religious, tribal and party differences and team up to wrestle the country out of the terrible moment we have found ourselves in.
Beji noted in the statement that the country was now in a bad shape and it has come to such a critical stage that peace, unity and purposeful direction must be pursued if the country is to weather the storms confronting it as a nation.
“Without peace, there will not be progress, without progress, we are doomed as a nation” he said, just as he cautioned against disunity, sabotage and willful damages of economic life wires of the country.
Meanwhile, the Waziri Nupe and a member of the 6th Senate, Senator Isah Mohammed has called on Muslims to pray for the peace and oneness of the country as the country goes through its trying moments.
The Wazirin Nupe said Nigeria requires support, prayers and contributions from all and sundry for the country to come out of the woods.
He noted that if Nigeria must progress, this is the time we must all make our individual sacrifices for the country’s development.
Senator Mohammed noted that there can be no alternative to peace for the growth and development of any society and added that Nigerians must shun all divisive cleavages to forge together as one people, one nation.
