A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Borno state, Hon. Baba Ahmed Mustapha has applauded the achievement of the Hon Muktar Aliyu Betara, member representing, Biu/Bayo/ Kwaya/Kusar/Shani federal constituency of th state.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, Mustapha said as member of the opposition PDP he was left with no choice than to forget about party differences and appreciate the achievements, recorded by the lawmaker, especially in the area of education, health, youth empowerment and many more.
According to him, Betara, is exceptional leader who has torched the lives of his constituents positively and he is not relenting in his effort to transform his constituency better than he met it, naming some of his achievements to include securing of employment to over 100 youth from his constituency, countless number of boreholes, rural electrification, building and maintaining of hospitals,
“It is unusual to find an opposition member commending the achievements of the members of the opposition, but for me, I have to say it the way it is. He has build class rooms he sponsored many children of the less privileged to various universities, he has sponsored orphans and the less privileged in the society.
“There is no doubt that Hon Betara has he gone outside his own way of legislature to empower many that is why I said it is worth commending. We want him to keep it up. What I’m saying is that he has done what is expected of representation.
“I made it clear that he is s not the first member to represent this constituency, we have had two people before him, and beside that we have seen from other part of the country those that shouted the loudest at the gallery did little or no efforts to uplift the standard of their people. Is it the scouting on the floor that we need or or impact positively on the lives of the people you represents?
“What do we require of him more than the empowerment that he has been doing to our people? As a member of an opposition I can confidently tell you that Hon Betara is one of the best representatives we have ever had in the history of Borno state.
“There are some lawmakers in Borno that was recently manhandled in their constituency, but I can assure you that Betara is exceptional, he anytime he is visiting his constituency, all the drums of the land will be rolled”, he said.
