Para Games: Bring Back Gold, Get Rewarded, Uba Sani Tells Kaduna Athletes

Athletes representing Kaduna State have been assured of pleasant surprises if they excel at the ongoing 2023 National Para Games, which opened on  Friday. 

Addressing the athletes before their departure from Kaduna for the Games holding  in Abuja from December 8 to 14,  Governor Uba Sani  said that development of youth through competitive sports is one key area his administration is focused on.

Represented by the Commissioner Sports Development, Professor Ben Gugong, Governor Sani urged the state’s, contingent to do them proud.

“His Excellency, our sports loving governor, Senator Uba Sani said I should tell you that if you win gold medals, you will be adequately   rewarded when you return,” the commissioner said.

Speaking further, he charged the athletes to be good ambassadors of Kaduna State throughout their stay at the games, noting that the state has an unblemished record of disciplined  athletes.

“Our state has a record of discipline at such games and I am optimistic you will maintain same,”   he said.

Also speaking, SA Sports to Governor Sani, Sa’id Dibis assured the athletes that on their return, they would be hosted by the governor at a befitting reception.

He therefore, charged the athletes to make the state proud through the haul of medals.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Team Kaduna put up an impressive performance and hauled four medals.

The feat was achieved in the game of badminton, where two gold and two silver medals were garnered.
