Palliatives: Uba Sani Flags Off  Distribution Of 50kg Bags Of Rice  To 210,000 Households

Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani on Monday,  flagged off the distribution of 50kg bags of rice each to 210,000 poor and vulnerable households in Kaduna State.

According to the governor, this is the first phase of our three-phase Palliatives Distribution Plan for Kaduna State, the flag off  took place  at Dankande, Igabi Local Government Area.

Senator Uba Sani  commended the Palliatives Committee  led by Her Excellency, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe for handling this assignment with commitment and dedication. 

He said, the Palliatives Committee is made up of top officials of NLC, TUC, other members of the organized labour, religious and traditional leaders, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Persons with Disabilities, Local Government Chairmen, Youth and Women Groups.

Adequate security arrangements are in place to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of the palliatives to the distribution points and the eventual transportation to the various LGAs. 

The Commissioner of Police and Director, DSS are leading  the coordination of security for palliatives distribution. 

Also, monitoring teams for the LGAs have also been constituted with membership drawn from members of the organized labour, faith based and development associations, traditional institutions, persons with disabilities, members of the State House of Assembly, local government chairmen, and members of the Kaduna State Government  Palliatives Distribution Committee.

Governor Uba Sani called on the  people of Kaduna State to give their maximum support and cooperation to the Kaduna State Government Palliatives Distribution Committee to ensure a hitch-free exercise. 

“I must however, warn that the full weight of the law will be visited on anyone who attempts to divert the palliatives meant for the people or tries to disrupt the exercise,” he warned.
