Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB) has inaugurated the School Based Management Committee (SBMC), at the Oyo State Model Smart School, Sogunro, Akinyele, Ibadan.
Speaking at the inauguration, Director Quality and Standard, Mrs Laide Ladipo said SBMC is aimed at improving governance and effective educational system at the basic level of education in the state.
Mrs Ladipo tasked the committee members to collaborate with the Oyo State government in achieving the desired goals, adding that the
” SBMC is a governing body consisting of 10 statutory members drawn from host community of the school’.
According to her, SBMC was a resolution of the National Council of Education (NCE) in 1995, aimed at improving governance of basic and secondary schools, as well as provide sustainable platform for stakeholders participations and non-government support to the schools.
