Oyo Police Command To Ensure Proactive, Adequate Security Measures At Late Olubadan Transition Process – CP Onadeko

As the body of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji is to be laid to rest this afternoon (Sunday), Oyo State Police Command on Sunday declared that it will put in place proactive and adequate security measures to guide the transition process  of the late  Oba Saliu Adetunji.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Ngozi Onadeko gave the assurance in a condolence message on behalf of Oyo State Police Command to commiserate with the entire Olubadan dynasty and indeed Oyo State on the demise of the late Olubadan
CP Onadeko in the condolence message issued on her behalf by the Oyo state Police command Public Relations Officer (PPRO),  DSP Adewale Osifeso stressed that the late Oba would particularly be missed for his active participation and support in ridding Ibadan and indeed the state at large off undesirable criminal elements,
According to CP Onadeko, the measures with  include ” adequate deployments round the nook and crannies of the state characterised by visibility policing, convoy patrols in concert with relevant sister agencies, surveillance and intelligence-led stop and search duties”..
CP Onadeko while assuring all and sundry to be law abiding and to go about their normal businesses without fear of molestation or harassment from anyone, advised ” parents and persons wielding various degrees of influence in religious, socio-political or in any other capacity to warn their wards and proteges against  acts that can lead to breach of the peace as such violators would be severely sanctioned.”
” The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, CP Ngozi Onadeko,  on behalf of Oyo State Police Command commiserates with the entire Olubadan dynasty and indeed Oyo State  over the painful loss of “His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, the Aje Ogunguniso 1″ who passed on at the age of 93, today Sunday, 2nd January, 2022”, she said.

CP Onadeko added, ” the revered First Class Monarch would particularly be missed for his active participation and support in ridding Ibadan and indeed the state at large off undesirable criminal elements, a major contributory factor which underscores the present enviable status of sustained relative tranquility,”.
” Sequel to this, the Commissioner of Police Oyo State Command, CP Ngozi Onadeko,  wishes to emphatically assure the general public that proactive and adequate security measures have been emplaced to guide the transition process  of the late monarch as he joins his ancestors”.
The Commissioner of Police stressed, ” in cases of emergency, the Command can always be reached through these emergency control room numbers: 615 (toll free) (OYO STATE SECURITY TRUST FUND), and Oyo State Police Command emergency lines 07055495413 and 08081768614. 
However, a statement from the palace of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Saliu Adetunji stated that the late Olubadan is to be laid to rest this evening at his Popoyemoja palace by 4pm.
The statement signed made by the Assistant Director of Media and Protocol, to the late Olubadan, Mr Yanju Adegboyega said the Fidau prayer for the  41st Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, holds  at the Mapo Hall by 4.00 pm and that he will be buried at 4.00 pm today at his Popoyemoja, Ibadan Palace according to Muslim rites.
The late Oba Adetunji, 93 who passed away in the early hours of this morning at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan. is survived by his wife, Olori Rashidat Ololade Adetunji, Children, grandchildren and great grandchildren..
