Oyo LG Polls: NSCDC Committed To Fostering Secure, Fair Electoral Atmosphere – Oyo NSCDC Commandant

 *Directs Area Commanders, Divisional Officers to initiate security operations in their respective jurisdictions

The Oyo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Augustine Padonu, has declared that NSCDC is committed to fostering a secure and fair electoral atmosphere in the country.

This was contained in a statement by the command made available to journalists in Ibadan on Thursday on the April 27 local government elections in Oyo state.

According to the statement, the  Commandant said this during a Management meeting held at the State Command’s headquarters in Ibadan and directed all Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to initiate security operations within their respective jurisdictions.

This, he stressed, is to ensure the successful conduct of the April 27 election in the state, to be conducted by the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC). 

Commandant Padonu stressed the critical role of the NSCDC in ensuring a secure and conducive environment for the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of upholding peace and security during the election period

He declared that NSCDC is committed to upholding the highest standards of conduct and ethical practices, underscoring the organization’s dedication to fostering a secure and fair electoral atmosphere.

” NSCDC, Oyo State Command, remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the democratic process and upholding the peace and security of the State, working in close collaboration with the relevant authorities to ensure a smooth and successful Local Government election”, he said.
