A group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state, PDP Vanguard has declared its intention to work for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin in Saturday’s governorship polls.
PDP Vanguard in a statement on Monday by its coordinator, Engr. Akeem Adeyemi declared that its members across Oyo State are determined to work against Governor Seyi Makinde’s second term ambition in the March 11 elections.
The group stressed that its decision to work against Governor Makinde’s second term ambition, is as a result of the fact that he allegedly did not work for the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the February 25 Presidential election
It alleged further that aside working against party’s candidates in the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections, the alleged arrogance and selfishness of Gov Makinde in the last four years has crippled the party in the state.
” Its surprising that Gov Makinde would expect us to work for his second term ambition when he arrogantly and deliberately ignored many warnings to support our presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar”, it said
PDP Vanguard added. ” we can’t stay in the same party with such a person. We therefore, warn him and his co-travelers to be careful of their sponsored propaganda against Senator Teslim Folarin, whom we have had a working relationship with while in our party.
“We all know that you are behind the recent attacks on his personality and it cannot safe you on Saturday. Politics has gone beyond killing someone in the name of another candidate, using religious sentiment and your other antics. Our people know the truth”.
