Kaduna State Government, led Governor Uba Sani last Thursday, set up a committee to provide a workable plan to address the out-of-school children syndrome in the state.
Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe inaugurated the eight-member inter-ministerial committee, entrusted with the task of addressing the pressing issue of out-of-school children.
Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa said huge investments and sincere efforts have been made over the years, yet the state still grapples with the persistent problem of out-of-school children, adding that, “It is evident that we need a renewed approach and a comprehensive strategy that leaves no child behind”.
She further said that the committee set up by Governor Uba Sani is expected to provide the state with a workable plan to end this nagging problem.
Membership of the committee comprises of the following:
I. Her Excellency the Deputy Governor Chairman
ii. Commissioner of Finance
iii. Commissioner of Education
iv. Commissioner Planning and Budget Commission
v. Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education
vi. Permanent Secretary Ministry of Environment
vii. Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and
viii. Executive Secretary of Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA)
