Out-going Zaria LG Interim Chairman escapes mob attack

Outgoing Interim Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council in Kaduna state Barrister Jafaru Abass escaped been mobbed by angry workers of the area who gathered at the Secretariat to give him a farewell assaults.
The incident occurred when he entered the Secretariat to hand over the mantle of leadership as directed by the state government following the dissolution of all the 23 Interim Chairmen of local governments in the state on Wednesday.
Our correspondent in the area reports that after several hours of being held hostage,  the sole administrator was smuggled out under a tight security with agents firing teargas to dispersed the workers.
The aggrieved workers said Barrister Jafaru Abass deserved the kind of assault from the workers because of his negative attitude towards them while he was at the helm of affairs in the council.
Commenting on the issue the Nigerian Union of local Government Employee (NULGE) Chairman, Zaria Local Government branch Comrade Shehu Mohammed Tukur said Barrister Jafaru Abass is not a leader worth emulation as he lacks human relation.
Comrade Tukur explained further that throughout his six months as sole administrator he didn’t recognised the existence of NULGE in the council.
