Otunba Davis Condoles  Sultanate Over Death Of Shehu Malami

The Chairman Governing Council, International Psychometrics Centre, Ibadan, Otunba Abimbola Mosobalaje Davis has condoled  the Governor of Sokoto State and the Sultanate over the death of Sokoto Prince, Shehu Malami .

Otunba Davis in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, described late Sarki Sudan Wurno, 85 as his personal friend and a mentor who was a detribalised Nigerian, a blunt adviser and a man who believed in Nigerian vision.

According to Otunba Davis, the death of Prince, Shehu Malami, came to him as a surprise and rude shock, saying, ” I am absolutely stunned to hear the passage of this great man that was respected globally”. 

” This is a personal loss to me. Baba is my Papa, my friend and my mentor. Hence I want to express my condolences to the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, the Sultan of Sokoto and the families of Alhaji Shehu Malami on his death”, he said.

Otunba Davis added, “Alh. Malami was a detribalised Nigerian, a blunt adviser and a man who believed in Nigerian vision. May Allah grant Sarki Sudan Wurno aljana fidaus. Amin. Rest in Peace, my Baba”, the statement issued by the IPCentre boss reads in part.  

The deceased held the position of Sarkin Sudan of Wurno, an esteemed title of the Sokoto Caliphate, and was a technocrat, entrepreneur and administrator who played a major role in the development of some commercial banks and several companies, including Costain West Africa, Nigeria Industrial Development Bank, PZ, and Indo-Nigeria Merchant Bank.
