Old Student Donates  N6m Projects To Alma Mater In Ibadan

An old student of Islamic High School, Orita Basorun, Ibadan, Engr Dayo Akinyemi on Tuesday, donated about N6 million projects to the school.

Commissioning the projects, a representative of the Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Mr Lukman Okesade charged old students to always give back to their alma mater.

Mr. Okesade lauded Engr Akinyemi of the 1989 set for the donation of the projects to Islamic High School, Orita-Basorun, Ibadan to mark his 50th Birthday Anniversary 

The Projects commissioned by the representative of the commissioner included, 60 pairs of students furniture ,10 teachers’ tables, 30 teachers’ chairs, five brand new laptops, 10 big black drums, four dozens of kettles,  repairs and installation of new accessories for 15 computers.

Others are, two  newly renovated classrooms and one  staff room,  were also commissioned. 

The cost of the projects were about N6 million Naira only.

Speaking at the commissioning, Engr Akinyemi  further promised the provision of  uniforms, bags, and shoes for 25 promising students, as well as yearly scholarship awards for overall best students in each class.

Engr Akinyemi also offered to provide credible mentoring links for science students to be able to compete with their counterparts through out the world.

Dignitaries at the commissioning included, the national president of the old students association, Mr. Lekan Popoola, immediate past national president, Professor Ishaq Omotosho, the national secretary, Mr. Lateef Lawal, school governing board chairman, Dr. Ismaila Razaq, school principal, Mr. Fasasi Abdullah and other members of the 1989 set.
