The Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ochor C. Ochor has felicitated  Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 62nd Independence celebration.

The Deputy Speaker, in a statement by his Press Secretary, Emmanuel Enebeli on Friday, September 30, 2022, said the country has come a long way from the day of independence, on October 1, 1960.

He pointed out that despite the many challenges that may have been identified as hindrances to the development of the country, Nigeria has improved in different areas of development, such as human capital, economy, infrastructure development, health and education sectors.

He however, urged Nigerians to continue to pray and never to relent in seeking the face of God to conquer the negative developments in the country, especially in the area of insecurity, which he said has bedeviled the country of late.

“As we mark another Independence Day, today October 1, 2022, I congratulate us all, as we have continued to show resilience despite numerous challenges plaguing the country.”

“We know that such challenges such as insecurity, have greatly affected the country, we should, however, thank God that since independence Nigeria had continued to develop from strength to strength in the area of economy, human capital, education, and the other areas of development,” he said.

He also used the Independence Day message to encourage Nigerians to prepare for the 2023 National Election by making sure they collect their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) to ensure they participate in the election because it’s by involving themselves they can vote their right choices.

He however, said that Nigerians should vote out bad government at the centre, which he said has caused the impoverishment of many Nigerians and vote in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
