Obi Promises To Bring Ajaokuta Company To Life If Elected President

The Labour Party (LP), presidential candidate, Mr.Peter Obi has promised Nigerians that if elected  president come 2023, he would resuscitate the Ajaokuta Steel Company  to create jobs and wealth for the people of the nation.

Mr, Obi made the promise in Lokoja on  Tuesday, as his presidential rally stormed the capital city while expressing  optimism that a functional steel project would bring about employment to millions of unemployed.

Speaking on the worrisome  insecurity bedeviling the country, a worried Obi assured  that his administration would guarantee security to Nigerians where all  would be assured peace and freedom to traverse the country without fear of terrorism or any related crimes.

According to Obi, an LP government will ensure that the rule of law and human rights are rooted firmly in the country, a development where nobody will  be oppressed.

On the welfare of workers, the LP presidential candidate promised Nigerians that his government would synergise with the state governments to clear arrears of their minimum wage and other emoluments to boost their morale and increase productivity.

Acknowledging the agrarian potentials of Kogi State, the LP presidential candidate described Kogi  as a geo-political entity that could feed itself, process the agricultural produce the state is endowed with for export, reduce poverty to the barest minimum and propel the state to another  economic level.

He reiterated his commitment to change Nigeria from consumer country to a producer nation if given the mandate.

In his remarks, Obi’s running mate, Sen. Ahmed Datti urged electorate to collect their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) and vote for the Labour Party, assuring them, “it is only the party  that can change the narrative that is  characterised  by poverty and  hunger among others.

He said, ”Keep our words, hold us responsible for our action, if voted into power next year and we fail.

“We will move the country out of poverty to wealth, stop the killings and start the healing, Nigerians should trust us with their votes, ” he promised.”

The National Chairman of the party, Barr. Julius Agure, also advised  the electorate to vote for the party, assuring them that, “LP is what Nigeria needs to solve its numerous socioeconomic and political problems.”
