NYSC: 32 Corps Members To Repeat Service Year In Ebonyi

No fewer than 32 corps members are to repeat their service year in Ebonyi State, while another 12 will serve extension of service ranging from one to four months on half pay.

The State Coordinator of NYSC in Ebonyi State, Mrs.Bamai Mercy made this known while delivering his address during the event for the passing-out Ceremony of 2021 Batch` B` stream 1 Corps members at Pa–Ngele Oruta Township stadium, Abakaliki.

According to the state coordinator, “a total of 928 corps members are passing out today, while 32 corps members, 15 male and five female will repeat the whole service year while another 12, (six male and six female) will serve extension of service ranging from one to four months on half pay.

The outgoing 2021 Batch B Stream 1 corps members were charged to sustain the good attitudinal disposition displayed during their one year service in Ebonyi State to add value to the society.

Mrs. Bamai further enjoined  the successful corps members who duly completed their service year in line with the NYSC Scheme at their primary places of assignments, to foster unity and development of the country.

Also speaking, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi commended the corps members for their commitment and dedication to serve their fatherland and therefore, implored all of them to remain steadfast in the cause of nation building as they navigate their ways up  the ladder of life in the larger society.

The governor who was represented by the state’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Charles Akpuenika applauded their devotion and efforts in the service of the state, while encouraging them to remain focused and  good ambassadors of the country.

Some corps members who spoke to journalists, Mr. Oloron Toby and Miss. Akinsowolowa Omobolade Rejina  expressed joy over the successful completion of their one-year service to their fatherland in good health, saying that Ebonyi State is a nice place to be.
