Nwifuru’s Aide Calls For Stronger Security Measures, Condemns Killing Of POS Operator In Ebonyi

In a swift response to the recent tragic killing of a Point of Sales (POS) operator in Umuagara Community, Ohaukwu Local Government Area (LGA) of Ebonyi State, the Special Assistant to Ebonyi State Governor On internal Security, Hon Ogbonna Tobias Oge, yesterday, condemned the  killing of a point of sales operator in Ohaukwu Local Government Area and called on security operatives to intensify efforts in curbing crime across Ebonyi State.

Mr. Ogbonna said the incident, which has heightened tension in  the community, saw the brutal murder of the POS operator, Mr. Louis Enoshi  at his house at about 2:30am, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and emphasized the need for security personnel to take immediate action to prevent such atrocities from happening again.

Nwifuru’s aide,  urged security agencies to step up their surveillance and intelligence-gathering efforts to apprehend the perpetrators of this senseless crime. 

He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the community members and security forces to ensure the safety and security of all residents in Ohaukwu Local Government Area.

” I propose a proactive measure to enhance security in the state. I suggest that the state government should consider enacting a law to empower local vigilantes to carry arms in order to better protect their communities. 

“This move, I believe, would provide an additional layer of security and deter criminal elements from carrying out violent acts,” he said.

The Special Assistant reiterated the commitment of the Ebonyi State Government to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens and pledged to work tirelessly to strengthen security measures across the Ohaukwu Local Government Area. 

” I call on all stakeholders, including community leaders, security agencies, and residents, to join hands in the fight against crime and violence.

“As investigations into the tragic incident continue, I urged  the residents of Umuagara Community and the entire Ohaukwu LGA to remain on edge, hoping for swift justice and increased security measures to prevent such incidents in the future” he said.
