NSCDC: Court Remands 61-yr Old Over Alleged Rape Of Minor In Ibadan

A 61 years old man was on Friday remanded at Correctional centre for allegedly raping a minor in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The 61years old was arraigned before an Oyo state Family Court sitting in Ibadan by the Oyo State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) .
The suspect according to NSCDC was charged to court for Rape contrary to Section 34(1) and punishable under section 34(2) of the Child Rights Law of Oyo state by the Anti-Human trafficking and child protection unit of the command.

Oyo State NSCDC Commandant, CC Michael Akintayo Adaralewa while speaking at the State Command headquarters, Agodi Ibadan said the suspect, Alfa Olayiwola Rasak of No S6/387 Oke Oluokun Kudeti Road, Ibadan was arrested for defiling  a  minor and allegedly continuous raping her for over 4 years. 
Commandant Adaralewa stated that the  suspect was arraigned after medical examination and thorough investigation, with the suspect Alfa Olayiwola Rasak voluntary confessed that he once had sexual intercourse with the victim .
In his ruling, Chief Magistrate S. H. Adebisi ordered that the suspect be  remanded him at Abolongo Correctional Centre in Oyo town.
Chief Magistrate Adebisi then adjourned the case  till November 8,2021.
The Oyo NSCDC Commandant while speaking warned those indulging in such acts to desist as NSCDC would not hesitate to bring offenders to justice as usual urging that people should be ready to expose evil doers and criminal element in their  community or neighbourhood  to ensure criminal does not evade punishment and promise confidentiality of the identity of the informant .
He also advised children to be disciplined , be good ambassadors of their various homes and families by say No if anyone want to assault them also report such to their parents or security agent.
