A 39-year old man, simply identified as Hammed is now in the net of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly defiling an 11 years old girl.
Oyo State Commandant of the NSCDC, Dr Michael Adaralewa disclosed this while speaking at the state command Headquarters of the Corps at Agodi, Ibadan.
He stressed that molestation of female child must stop, saying, “this is barbaric on our minors”.
Commandant Adaralewa said the suspect, a native of Saare Ilorin Kwara State, on 9th of this month August 2023 at his residence at Osungbade area of Molete Ibadan, allegedly raped the minor .
He stressed that the suspect who allegedly admitted to the crime, said he raped the girl when her mother who sells food within the neighborhood asked the child to give him Isiaka soup at home and forced the girl and defiled her.
Commandant Adaralewa maintained that the Anti Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit of the Command arrested the suspect at Popo area of Ibadan on 17th of the month after the mother of the girl reported the case to NSCDC.
The NSCDC Commandant Michael Adaralewa disclosed that the case would be charged to court after the conclusion of the investigation.
Enjoining the people of the state to always furnish the corps with credible information whenever they see anything unlawful in their vicinity, said, “If you see something, always say something”.
He then appealed to parents and guardians to always protect their children, especially the female child in other not to be victim of the wicked ones around.
