No News Yet On Kidnapped Cross River Commissioner, 48 hours After

Forty-eight hours after an unidentified gunmen kidnapped one of governor Ben Ayade’s aide, Mr. Gabriel Odu-Oji,  Commissioner for Water Resources, at the weekend, no news of his whereabouts yet.
Speaking to the New Nigerian Online, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Irene Ugbo confirmed that officers and men of the Command are working hard to unravel his whereabout.
Oji was kidnapped on Sunday morning along  Mayne Avenue in Calabar South.
She said ” we are working very hard to ensure that the suspected kidnapers were brought to book while the commissioners’ live is saved”.
Ugbo said that ” our men are every where in search of the kidnappers and we shall not leave any stone unturned”.
Also in his remarks, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor Mr. Christian Ita, said “this is a security issue and those in charge of security are on top of the issue”
Said he “very soon we will get a clearer picture as the security heads were in a meeting”.
Meanwhile, the state government has remained silent as there has been no statement on the issue.
Attempts to reach at any member of his family failed as their cellphones could not be reached as at the time of filling this story.
