NIgeria Targets Semi-final Finish At World Beach Volleyball Championship

Ahead of the World Beach Volleyball Championship billed for Thailand in December 2021, Nigeria has set a target of semi-final for its three teams.
Head Coach National Underage Teams Beach Volleyball, Iwerima John expressed this while speaking to sports writers who stormed their Ahmadu Bello Stadium camp on Wednesday evening to watch the team train.
“My target is getting to semi-final,” he said.
According to him, the three teams that would be representing NIgeria are male   U-21, as well as U-19 and  U-21 Girls teams.

He explained that the World Championship  will be taking place in Thailand from December 3 to 19. 
On the number of players in camp, Coach Iwerima said that they have a total of 14 players.
“Six boys all together and eight players for girls, four in each category. For each category, NIgeria will be presenting a team,” he clarified.
On which of the players will be wearing NIgeria’s colours in Thailand, he said they are yet to draw you the final list, however, adding that only two boys and four girls will be representing the country.
“Screening is still in progress, before end of month, we will get the final  players,” he assured.
On the attitude of the players in camp, he said they have been impressive.
” The players proven that they are teachable. They are disciplined and they have proven they can do it and with prayers from Nigeria, we would do well,” he said.

He however, added that besides skills on the court, the technical team will still look at some things. 
When asked about the welfare of the players and officials at the camp, he said that the NIgeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has been graciously meeting their needs.
“NVBF doing best to ensure we get best of feeding and accommodation,” he said.
It would be recalled that the  camp began November 4.
