NIGCOMSAT Moves To Bridge Nigeria’s Digital Divide As CEO Egerton-Idehen Tours Northwest Zone

Nigeria Communication Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) in its effort to bridge communication gap and deliver effective service to critical sectors has strengthened its broadband connectivity to underserved Nigerian populace.

Managing Director and CEO of (NIGCOMSAT) Mrs Nkechi Egerton-Idehen who made the announcement in Kaduna in her tour of Northwest Geopolitical Zone of the country, called on individuals and corporate bodies to leverage on cost-effective access to communication infrastructures on education, agriculture, health among others. 

While emphasising the agency’s readiness for business the head of NIGCOMSAT urged space enthusiasts and space tech firms to key into the agency’s Accelerator programme aimed at fostering innovation in satellite technology before the closing of application on  February 2, 2024.

“This visit to Kaduna has thus, afforded me the opportunity to meet and discuss with our clients, potential clients, stakeholders and partners in the region comprising of Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Jigawa, Zamfara, Kebbi and Katsina. 

“We are giving our business the transformation it needs to take its place as a critical and strategic proud asset of our nation, not just through words, but through tangible actions and results. We are determined to make NIGCOMSAT a beacon of national pride, with an energized workforce and satisfied clients.

“Part of our mandate as a communications satellite operator is to ensure bridge the digital divide for the Nigerian people by providing broadband connectivity to the unserved and underserved populace. 

“We are more than ever committed to provide universal, ubiquitous, and cost-effective access to communications infrastructure throughout the country, to strive for a Nigeria where the utilisation of ICT impacts all spheres from agriculture, education, health, enterprise, etc.
