Alimosho area of Lagos is no doubt the largest local government in the state, with its votes determining who  wins at the presidential and governorship elections in the state.

The fight of who will represent the party under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Federal Constituency in the National Assembly has hot up, with both the incumbent holder of the office and other new entrants, described as the underdogs, seriously jostling for the ticket.

As at the last count, four prominent aspirants have hit the ground running, with their campaign banners and flyers adorning the mooks and crannies of Alimosho

Visible among the contestants are the heir apparent to the stool of Onisheri of Isheri kingdom, Prince Idris Balogun and the present member in the House, Femi Adebanjo.
The others, Yusuf Oladipipo Oseni, Kaokab, and Abiola Dada are relatively unknown and like Idris Balogun are youths. Not much is known of Kaokab.

Balogun, an astute businessman, estate developer, hotelier and transporter,  had started his campaigns months ago, when his posters surfaced every where in Alimosho.
He provides free school bus services; embarks on a number of social service investments and masses oriented projects.

Not surprising, all the candidates line up behind Asiwaju Bola Tinubu APC presidential hopeful.

Adebanjo _aka_Eyes__ _open_ , the present member of House of Representatives,  is also coming up strong with donations to market women, tricycle loan to youths and motor cycles to members of his party, APC.
Tinubu’s picture is superimposed on their posters, flyers and handbills.

These aspirants are into nocturnal campaigns and placing of posters at night at strategic places as not to  breach INEC campaign guidelines.

Abiola Dada and Pipo Oseni are in the race to change the status quo, like Balogun rewrite Alimosho’s political history.

Dada and Oseni’s posters grace street light poles, bus stops and walls.

While not underestimating other candidates, Balogun is set to unseat Eyes open.

It’s however being speculated that aspirants such as Kaobak, Dada and Oseni would be compromised and step down for Balogun and Adebanjo to slug it.

However, the list of candidates is still growing and speculation is best left for the candidates and political parties to decide.
