Nasarawa West Senator-Elect, Wadada Is New Barayan Gudi, As Youth Who Trekked For Victory Get Motorcycles, N40k Gifts

The Sarkin Gudi, HRH Alhaji Sule Bawa  on Friday, conferred the title of Barayan Gudi on the Senator-Elect of Nasarawa West District, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Wadada. 

A delegation of the 3rd-class monarch led by the Sarkin Yakin Gudi, Alhaji Khalid Yusuf Sule made this known when they paid the Senator-Elect a congratulatory visit at his residence in Keffi. 

The delegation congratulated him on his landslide victory at the just-concluded Presidential and National Assembly election held on February 25. 

In his remarks, Wadada thanked the monarch and his council for finding him worthy of the title and pledged to justify the confidence reposed on him. 

He also thanked the delegation for the visit and assured of quality representation at the National Assembly. 

Wadada, a former two-term House of Representatives member, also holds the traditional title of Sarkin Yakin Keffi among others.

Meanwhile, two youth who trekked from Kwatan Guto to Keffi in celebration of Ahmed Aliyu Wadada’s victory in the just-concluded senatorial election of Nasarawa West District have been gifted a brand new motorcycle and ₦40,000 cash. 

The youth simply identified as Soldier and Ogala, were presented with the gifts by the victorious candidate of the opposition Social Democratic Party(SDP) at his residence in Keffi. 

New Nigerian Newspapers (NNN) reported that the youth had embarked on the solidarity trekking from Kwatan Guto in Nasarawa LGA of Nasarawa State on Tuesday February 28 and arrived Keffi, Keffi LGA on Thursday March 02, where they were received by the Senator-Elect. 

Kwanta Guto is a community in Nasarawa LG sharing boundary between Nasarawa and Kogi States with a distance of over 100km. 

Wadada scored 96,488 votes to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the All  Progressives Congress (APC), Architect Shehu Ahmad Tukur to emerge winner of the election in the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). 

Tukur the preferred candidate of a former Senator of the district and current National Chairman of APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, scored 47,717 votes.
