NADCEL 2023: Join Army To Contribute To Nigeria’s Security, Peaceful Existence – JTF Commander

The Commander, Sector 2 Joint Taskforce, Operation Hadin Kai in Yobe State, Major General Mayirenso Saraso has asked students of Government Secondary School and Government Girls College both in Damaturu to join the Nigerian Army on completion of their studies so as to contribute to the peaceful coexistence of the country.

General Saraso who was represented by the Chief of Staff of Sector 2, Brigadier General Julius Ogbobe disclosed this at the rounding-up of the Public Speaking Engagements to mark Nigeria Army Day Celebration at Government Girls College Damaturu.

The engagement which started on 3rd to 5th July, 2023 was aimed at educating secondary school students about the composition of the Nigerian Army (NA) and its responsibilities within the Sector 2 Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) Area of responsibilities.

The students were enlightened on various topics, including patriotism, career opportunities in the Nigerian Army, criteria and selection process for enlistment into the Nigerian Army, civil-military relations, and developmental projects undertaken by the NA.

The commander also highlighted that; Nigerian Army has the largest component of the Armed Forces but works harmoniously with the others.

“I encourage you students to aspire to have a career in the Army to contribute to the country’s security and peaceful existence on the completion of your studies” he said.

The school principals, Mallam Auwal Muhammad Garba of GSS Damaturu and Hajiya Ladi Ishaku Gali of GGUC hailed the public speaking engagement as an eye-opening and educational experience for the students.

They expressed their satisfaction with the informative and the enlightening lectures as well as the distribution of books, affirming that it will broaden the students’ horizons and instil in them a deeper sense of respect for the Nigerian Army.
